30 Day Shred: Day 6 - Summer Blowout Challenge: Day 6

~ 30 Day Shred ~

Well Sunday was my rest day, and I did a little over indulgence, but I'm getting back on track. Walked my normal 2+ miles in the morning and worked out with Crazy Lady Michaels when I got home from work. I'm really proud of myself for committing to working out both in the AM and the PM! Another point of celebration for me are my push-ups: though I'm still doing modified push-ups on my knees I am able to do five in a row all the way to the floor and back before needing to take a breather.Something I do need to look into is getting some heavier weights, I don't even know how heavy the ones I have are but I would like too push for 10 pounders.

I'm trying to not let myself get discouraged by the lack of change in my body so far, its only day six, I have 24 days and 20 more work outs to go. I'll take another updated picture on day 10, that's this coming Friday: 16 August 2013.

Last week I didn't do so well on the drinking commitment, so I'm recommitting to that: three or fewer nights of drinking this week. I'm also working on my water intake as well as cutting back on sugars.

I'm really enjoying the ladies in the challenge, the facebook page is always booming with motivation, discussion topics and general good fun. I'm a little worried about weight in day on Wednesday, but I'll keep my chin up and keep going.

30 Day Shred: Day 2

Day two and let me tell you, I'm feeling it! I decided to try something this morning: I very much enjoy my mornings, I wake up early enough that I can get 2 miles in and take my repose over a well prepared breakfast and a cup of coffee. Doing the 30 Day shred after my walk as I did yesterday disturbs my calm, so instead today I went back to my usual routine. I promised myself that I would do the Shred after work, which is a little dangerous, cause as the day wears on, I can always find a reason not to do it. But I did do it today! Go Me!

I'm chilling now, reaping the rewards.

Summer Blowout Weight Loss Challenge: Day 1


So along with Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, I will also be participating in the Sisterhood of Shrinking Jeans Summer Blow Out Weight Loss Challenge which is running from 7 August 2013 - 18 September 2013.

I took a picture of my weight this morning, and though I've already said this, I'm not happy with it, but I'm not going to let that get me down:


For this Challenge unrealistically I would like to loose 10%, and get down to 175 - I would have to loose 3.235 lbs per week to do that. Now that's not totally impossible... but I'm gonna set my sights on something a little bit more manageable and go for 2 lbs per week which will get me down to 182 lbs. 

This week my goal is to reduce my drinking, I have to admit, I enjoy beer and wine, and my Guy likes beer A LOT... so I'm gonna say reduce drinking to 3 nights a week, which I would like to reduce eventually to 1 night a week.

So here goes nothing.

30 Day Shred: Day 1

So I have a random crazy schedule that I'll get more into later, but suffice it to say that it makes it very difficult to commit to a gym or a class or whatever, which obviously has an effect on my weight loss goals. Thankfully I do have a very active job for the most part, its just the activity level of my job isn't enough to ensure weight loss, plus add in some bad habits of mine... I've actually been gaining weight lately, so I'm not a happy camper. In the past I've been building my own work outs, and trying to commit the time at home to said work outs... but I don't feel the work outs are doing any good and my schedule always throws me off... so I'm turning back to a professional this time, in this case: Jillian Michaels.

Plan:
Walk 30-35 minutes every day that I don't have a ship to work
6x/week - 30 Day Shred DVD
On rest day complete either Belly Dancing DVD or Zumba Fitness

Measurements:
Weight: 194.1
BMI: 28.7
Neck: 14
Chest: 40
Waist: 38.5
Hips: 42
Arm: L-14  R-14
Leg:  L-26  R-27

Will update when I get home since I don't have them with me presently.

Starting Day - 6 August 2013
Ending Day - 4 September 2013

Plan after 30 Days:
3x/week -  30 Day Shred DVD
Walk 30-35 minutes every day that I don't have a ship to work
1-2x/week - Belly Dancing DVD
1-2x/week - Zumba Fitness

My major challenge is going to be committing to working out on ship days which are some very physically and mentally taxing days, and especially committing to working out the day after a ship... that is my major challenge but I'm determined.

My Motivation:
- I'm so close to my goal, I've been working at it for 2 years
- Being a healthy role model for friends and family
- I might actually be able to comfortably wear a bikini... that just amazes me!

Mini Goal #1:
-Get down to 190 by 19 August 2013

Long Term Goal:
-Goal Weight: 160
